GreenHome at the MTN Bushfire Festival

GreenHome featured in the Swaziland Times for supplying the MTN Bushfire Festival in Swaziland with biodegradable food containers and cutlery. This was a 100% Green Festival where they only allowed compostables at the stalls.

There were green waste bins around the festival which collected all the food and other compostable waste and composted it after the event.

While plastic is recyclable, when people throw it away with food still on it, it becomes a more difficult to recycle. It is considered contaminated. This is why compostable packaging is so great for festivals and events like this. The food doesn’t need to be kept separate from the packaging and the utensils that it comes with. It can all be composted together.
