Wood Fibre
Raw Materials
Wood Fibre
Wood fibre is the source material for our wood cellophane, paper and greaseproof paper products. We source recycled paper where possible, and choose products made from fibre from responsibly managed forests with Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) certification. All wood fibre products can be composted in home and commercial compost facilities and in worm farms. Paper products can also be recycled, if free of food residues and grease.
Wood Cellulose
Our clear cellulose bags are made from FSC certified sustainable wood fibre. They can be heat sealed and have a high barrier to air, grease and bacteria making it ideal for food packaging. Plus, they can be composted in home and commercial compost facilities and in worm farms.
Recycled Paper
Almost all our wood fibre products contain a percentage of recycled paper, from 15%, right up to 100%. Recycled paper is a great tree-free source of paper and a good example of the circular economy in action.
Kraft
Many of our products are made from natural, unbleached Kraft paper, which includes recycled content and is sourced from sustainably managed forests. Its natural look and feel make Kraft a popular choice. We never use any plastic coatings or linings, so GREEN HOME Kraft products are always fully compostable too.
Why are sustainable wood fibre products a great choice?
– Sustainable tree harvesting is important for maintaining healthy, balanced ecosystems and providing homes for wildlife.
– They are home compostable and will biodegrade if exposed to bacteria, moisture and heat.
– The paper products are all recyclable as long as they have not absorbed grease from food products.
