We’re Giving to Yiza Ekhaya this Season. Join us!

Have you heard of the Yiza Ekhaya Soup Kitchen? This fantastic charity is run by the incredibly warm hearted Mama Mickey in her Kuyasa community in Khayelitsha. Mama Mickey is a pensioner, but she works tirelessly with her team of volunteers to feed, clothe, inspire and create a safe space for hundreds of children as well as vulnerable adults.
As 2019 draws to a close we’re giving to the children of Yiza Ekhaya and we’re hoping you’ll join us! We’ll be donating brand new school shirts to all the children that Mickey cares for. We’re happy to know they’ll have what they need to start the school year right in 2020.
You can contribute by donating clothes, toiletries, stationary, books, non perishable food etc. Maybe see if there are any items going unused on your shelves. Perhaps a piece of clothing, a bottle of shampoo, even a can of baked beans. Below you can find a list of items that Mickey has asked for!
If you have something to give, please drop it off at our Joburg and Cape Town offices by next Friday 13 December.
We’ll be visiting Yiza Ekhaya on 17 December (the day after the Day of Reconciliation public holiday) to visit Mickey and the kids and drop off all the goodies.
We are collecting the following items that Mickey has asked for:
- Toiletries
- Stationary
- Arts and Crafts
- Clothes for children and adults
- Books
- Non perishable food
- White school shirts from Ackermans / Pep sizes 7 to 15
